Car Accident on I-25 in Pueblo, Colorado

An accident on I-25 in Pueblo, Colorado closed the highway for about an hour a little after 6:00 a.m. yesterday. Officers reported there were minor injuries from the car wreck and major debris strewn across the roadway.

Semi Accident in Colorado Springs at Interquest Parkway

There was a semi-truck accident at the end of the morning rush Thursday that blocked Interstate 25 southbound at Interquest Parkway. The interstate was not closed but it was almost completely blocked in the area, with traffic only getting by slowly in the right lane.
One person was injured in the crash, but the extent of the injury is not known at this time.

Pedestrian vs Car Accident in Colorado Springs

IOn Wednesday, February17, 2010 at approximately 10:30PM a male attempting to cross the northbound lanes of the 700 block of South Academy Boulevard was struck by a motorist who appears to have been obeying all traffic laws. The pedestrian was transported to memorial hospital and is listed in critical condition. The drive of the vehicle did not sustain any injury and impairment was not suspected.

Car Accident in Springs kills Two Fort Carson Soldiers

An accident early Saturday morning on Highway 115 at Hitch Rack Ranch Road killed two Fort Carson soldiers and left another fighting for his life. Others involved in the crash were injured too.

The soldiers were driving in an Audi when the driver crossed the center line and collided head-on with a large utility truck owned by a construction company.

Both the driver of the Audi and the front seat passenger were wearing seat belts, a rear seat passenger was not restrained. Both passengers in the Audi were pronounced dead on scene. The driver was taken to Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the construction vehicle was also taken to the hospital with possible serious injuries. A driver of a third vehicle that hit both vehicles was also transported with non-life threatening injuries. State Patrol says alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash.

Fatal Car Accident in Springs, Circle and Fountain

Colorado Springs Police are investigating a fatal head on accident at the intersection of S. Circle and East Fountain Blvd. which sent several people to local hospitals with life threatening injuries, and left at least one person dead on the scene early this morning. Alcohol is suspected to be involved for both drivers.

The accident occurred at 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning. A Ford Pick-up that had been travelling south on Circle attempted to make a left turn on to Fountain. The second vehicle, a Mercury Cougar was heading north on Circle without headlights. Both vehicles hit head-on spinning them in the intersection.

The driver of the truck was injured and transported to Memorial Hospital and later arrested for DUI. The second vehicle had three occupants including the driver who was also arrested for DUI. A passenger in the second vehicle was injured and another was killed instantly.

Colo. County Settles Taser-Related Lawsuit

El Paso County officials agreed Tuesday to a $56,000 settlement with a Peyton, Colo., man who was shot twice in the chest with a Taser during a 2007 incident. According to the lawsuit, Jiles Theron Bennett was shocked twice after being pulled over for driving too slowly. Bennett claims that the police officer involved used excessive force and that the arrest constituted an unreasonable seizure.

Colorado Springs Motorcyclist Injured in Crash

A motorcyclist riding west on Fillmore Street in Colorado Springs, Colorado was in serious condition at Penrose Hospital Wednesday following a collision about 5:30 p.m. when an eastbound car turned left onto Hancock Avenue in front of him. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. Colorado Springs Police are still investigating the crash.
