An accident early Saturday morning on Highway 115 at Hitch Rack Ranch Road killed two Fort Carson soldiers and left another fighting for his life. Others involved in the crash were injured too.
The soldiers were driving in an Audi when the driver crossed the center line and collided head-on with a large utility truck owned by a construction company.
Both the driver of the Audi and the front seat passenger were wearing seat belts, a rear seat passenger was not restrained. Both passengers in the Audi were pronounced dead on scene. The driver was taken to Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the construction vehicle was also taken to the hospital with possible serious injuries. A driver of a third vehicle that hit both vehicles was also transported with non-life threatening injuries. State Patrol says alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash.
