City Settles Suit Over Fatal Police Collision
An $835,000 settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed against the city of Louisville, KY over an accident with a police cruiser that killed a man in 2006. The man was standing next to his car in the emergency lane of a Kentrucy highway when a police care swerved into the lane, striking and killing the man. The police officer was suspended for 30 days, but the death was ruled accidental.
