On Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at approximately 5:07 PM the Colorado Springs Public Communications Center was notified of a serious accident in the 1400 block of West Fillmore Street involving three vehicles. Police, fire and EMS responded to the scene and found a female party trapped in a vehicle. Initial assessment determined that only one party was injured, and that those injuries were serious.

Fire and EMS personnel were able to extract the female party from the vehicle, however she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is being investigated by the Major Accident Unit. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
