The Eastern Los Angeles County Regional Center was hit with a lawsuit yesterday filed by more than 100 parents of autistic children after the center eliminated their autism therapy. The lawsuit claims the center illegally cut the therapy even though it has proven clinically effective and is still used in 20 other regional centers. The lawsuit states that by cutting the therapy, the center condemned the families to “a bleak future under institutionalized care.”
