Judge May Consider Loss of Consortium Damages
A federal judge has indicated that he may shift course on a ruling in which he denied punitive damages to the mothers of two women who were allegedly killed by FBI informants, according to the Boston Globe. In an order issued Monday, US District Judge William G. Young said he will hold a hearing to consider punitive damages for loss of consortium by the two women. Last year, Young ordered the federal government to pay nearly $2 million to the families of those killed by informants James “Whitey’’ Bulger and Stephen “The Rifleman’’ Flemmi.
