Jury Awards $30 Mill. In Foster Care Abuse Suit
A San Jose jury awarded $30 million to a man who was sexually abused as a child by his foster parent. The lawsuit claimed that the man forced the victim into “600 acts of sexual abuse from December 1995 to March 1999.” The lawsuit also named foster agency the Giarretto Institute as a defendent, stating that Jackson should not have been allowed to be a foster parent because of previous offenses.
