A lawsuit has been filed on the behalf of Penny Louise Prevezich against San Mateo County, Calif., alleging her 2008 death was the result of hospital negligence. According to the lawsuit, staff at the San Mateo Medical Center left Prevezich in a waiting area unattended for about 90 minutes, during which she died from cardiac arrest. The family of Prevezich is seeking unspecified damages.
