A lawsuit has been filed against University Medical Center in Nevada which alleges the hospital did not provide proper treatment to a woman in labor, leading to the death of the child. The lawsuit claims that Latricia Richard was complaining of labor pains but was not seen by a single doctor or advanced nurse. She claims she was only given a sleeping pill and sent home. She returned to the hospital hours later in labor, giving birth to a premature baby who died moments later. The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages. This is the second lawsuit filed against UMC this month.
