Tenants Ordered to Vacate Deteriorating Complex
Authorities ordered residents to evacuate a NY apartment building after receiving a complaint of leaking water and a large hole in a tenant’s wall. The building has already been cited for violations including a collapsing ceiling and a bathtub sinking through floorboards. Inspectors found that the reparation work exceeded what was allowed under building permits, particularly while tenants still resided inside.
